The Meadow reborn
The meadow was reinstated and re-seeded in 2010 following major disturbance caused by local sewage works during 2009, the meadow once again shows signs of colour and variety.
From ground hugging Lesser yellow trefoils to lofty Ox-eye daisies and predominant ribwort plantain to less numerous Birds foot trefoil, there is an abundance of food plants for butterflies, bees and flies.
2012 - THE MEADOW SHOWS MUCH IMPROVEMENT FROM PREVIOUS YEARS WITH AN INTERESTING SHOW OF FLOWERING PLANTS COMING INTO THEIR OWN, FOLLOWING SEEDING IN 2010.
Friends of the Earth are undertaking a
‘Bee cause campaign’
together with the Cannon Hill Park Friends and Birmingham City Council Rangers
There will be a variety of wildflower and meadow walks along with other themed walks throughout the Summer.

WHERE IS THE MEADOW?
The meadow can be found near the River Rea on the wildside of Cannon Hill Park, south west of the main park.
Follow the paths from the MAC, parallel to and upstream along the River Rea for approximately half a mile or ten minutes walk, and you will find the meadow to the left of the path/cycle way.
